Theological reflections of a melancholy Eastern European pilgrim…

“No stupid rules of engagement.”

Another “tough-guy” performance from Pete Hegseth.

And as always, he delivers his lines as if he still cannot decide whether he is addressing the Pentagon, auditioning for Fox News, or ranting at the end of a bar.

It may sound tough on television, but it betrays his cable-news habit of seeking applause and worrying about consequences later—even while our soldiers in combat zones remain bound by the very rules he derides.

Rules of engagement are not “stupid rules.”

They are the legal and operational framework governing the use of force, protecting civilians, and keeping American soldiers within the law of armed conflict.

They are what separates a professional military from an undisciplined mob with weapons.

President Trump’s real talent seems to be choosing image-obsessed performers fixated on sounding tough—eager to sink even lower into public indecency for the next headline than he does himself.

…until they too are eventually tossed under the bus. (Kristi Noem, no doubt soon followed by others.)

Pathetic.
Disgraceful.
Utterly Unfit.
